Benefits of Prenatal Massage

Relieves Back, Hip, and Pelvic Pain

As your center of gravity shifts during pregnancy, additional stress is placed on the lower back, hips, and pelvis. Prenatal massage can help reduce muscle tension and improve comfort.

Reduces Neck and Shoulder Tension

Changes in posture and increased breast weight can create tightness in the upper body. Massage helps ease tension and improve mobility.

Helps Reduce Swelling

Gentle massage techniques may encourage healthy circulation and help reduce mild swelling in the feet, ankles, and legs.

Promotes Better Sleep

Many pregnant women struggle with sleep disturbances. Massage encourages relaxation and may help improve sleep quality.

Reduces Stress and Anxiety

Pregnancy can be physically and emotionally demanding. Prenatal massage provides a calming environment to help reduce stress and promote a sense of well-being.

Supports Overall Wellness

Regular prenatal massage can help maintain flexibility, improve circulation, and provide relief from the everyday discomforts of pregnancy.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Prenatal Massage Safe?

Prenatal massage is generally considered safe for healthy pregnancies when performed by a trained therapist using appropriate techniques and positioning.

However, every pregnancy is unique. If you have concerns or a high-risk pregnancy, please consult your healthcare provider before scheduling.

When Can I Receive a Prenatal Massage?

Lavender Massage welcomes clients in their second and third trimesters.

For first-time pregnancies during the first trimester, we require a doctor's note or written approval from your healthcare provider before scheduling a prenatal massage. This policy is in place to help ensure the safety and well-being of both mother and baby.

Once you have entered your second or third trimester, a doctor's note is no longer required for healthy pregnancies unless otherwise recommended by your healthcare provider.

If you have a high-risk pregnancy or any medical concerns, we encourage you to consult with your healthcare provider before booking your appointment.

Can I Lay on My Stomach?

No. Prenatal massage is performed using comfortable side-lying positions with supportive pillows to ensure safety and comfort for both mother and baby.

What Areas Are Typically Worked On?
